Tamarindo
11/29/2011 - 11/29/2011
I have been in Tamarindo since Sunday evening and it is a beautiful beach. My school is completely outside and there are lots of trees and plants everywhere. I still haven't been able to locate any monkeys, but am keeping my eyes open for them! The one thing that there isn't a shortage here of is Mosquitos and I am getting eaten alive despite all the repellent I keep coating myself with. Things are much different here; I live with a nice mother and daughter and the two neighbors on both sides share the same front gated "yard". The mother Paulita is very nice, but much different from my previous host mother. The house is split into two seperate parts and I basically have a "house" to myself. There are several rooms, which I assume are for the high season when she houses numerous students. It is very nice, but also secluding and I have to take a shuttle to school as it's unfortunately not walking distance to the school or beach. The beach is beautiful and I wonder if it will become my favorite over Maui. A couple hours at the beach has been good for me so far, as I'm trying not to get burnt! Things are definitely more expensive here, but so far I haven't had to buy too much as I get fed breakfast and dinner each day. Today I sparked up a conversation with a man taking a break on the beach with his horse. He said he does local tours and after discussing my love of horses with him he gave me the phone number where I can call and book the horseback riding tour I have anxiously been awaiting for!
Today the class offered is yoga and until then I will explore the surrounding shops a bit!
